Capturing SQL Queries Using LOADRUNNER through TOAD

  • How would you begin ?
  • SQL statements be run through TOAD which can be recorded through LoadRunner and replay it successfully.
  • SQL statements be run through TOAD which can be recorded through LoadRunner and replay it successfully. The exact response time on how long the SQL query took to execute can also be captured by inserting transaction point. Below are the details and screen shot for reference.
  • Pre-requisites
  • Tool used to run SQL Query: TOAD
  • LoadRunner Version: 11.0
  • Protocol used: Oracle 2-tier
  • Prep work: The TNS entry has to be added to the TOAD and connect to the database. Make the connection as automatic connect on log on. So that once TOAD is invoked it automatically connects to this database.
  • Select single Protocol, and select Oracle [2-tier]

  • In Program to Record, click on Browse button and select the path of TOAD.exe

  • Click on OK. TOAD session will open. Since we selected automatically connect the 
  • required database connects automatically.

  • Click on Open icon to select the queries

  • Select the Query that has to be executed

  • Insert a transaction and Click on Run button in TOAD

  • EXIT Toad & Click on Yes and Stop the recording, The script was generated.
